That's It? Instant Nail Art Rub-On's are very different from stickers. Our 3D Stickers have an adhesive backing (and most have a glittery shimmer to them too!). That's It? 3D Stickers & Rub-On's are designed to be applied easily by a professional and keeps the client coming to you for their great looking nails. The detail is awesome, and the Rub-On's are so thin -- you can't even feel them under the top coat (which means your client won't pick at them!), the 3D Stickers, are well.. 3D - which means they have a raised texture to them. They are also very opaque -- which means that if you rub a White Hawaiian flower over a really dark colored polish -- the white flower will still be solid white! The way the Rub-On's are applied is by light pressure with an orangewood stick or even a fingernail over the top of the transparent sheet, which then places the design onto the nail . You can view a demo by clicking here.
That's It? Instant Nail Art Rub-On's don't use water to transfer to the nail -- they just rub on! Because of this, there's no risk of air or water bubbles being trapped under the decal or the potential for a wet decal to slide off of the nail. Also, when using water decals, the nail tech usually has to cut out each design before soaking. That's It? Instant Nail Art Rub-On's don't require this type of cutting. The exceptions are the some of the continuous prints (like Lace) -- which require the nail tech to cut a piece to match the size of the nail (like you would a wrap), but she/he does not have to cut around EACH little shape in the design.
Both the That's It? Rib-On's & 3D Stickers can be applied over polish, to acrylics and gels. Using a clear gel overlay over an acrylic or gel application (like EZNails Professional UV TopCoat) to seal the design gives your client long lasting nail art.
Yes and no. Yes, you need to let the polish dry, but no, it doesn't have to be rock-hard, overnight dry. We have a polishing solution for you, though. In school, we learned to polish all 10 nails at the end of a service and let the client sit -- which wastes time if you have to wait for all of them to dry. Instead, think 5 and 5! Finish one hand (or foot) before the other and prep it for polish. Base coat and polish that hand with 2 THIN coats of polish (you may even be able to use just 1 coat if the coverage is good) and let it start drying. A fan is helpful, or if using a UV light, start curing. While the first hand is drying, you can be finishing up with the other hand (final buffing, massage, etc.) By the time you're done prepping and polishing the second hand, the first hand is ready for nail art! It's simply budgeting your time so that you keep busy while the nails are drying -- no time is wasted at the end!
As with any enhancement for the nails, it depends largely on your client's treatment of her nails. When applied to fresh polish, the designs actually become a part of the polish layer, so That's It? should stay on as long as the polish is on. On natural nails, with topcoat applied every few days, That's It? will last up to two weeks; on acrylics or gel nails up to three weeks; and on pedicures (without additional topcoat) up to 3 - 6 weeks! We have seen That's It? Instant Nail Art stay perfectly on toenails for months until they were literally trimmed off! Okay, that may be a little more information than you wanted... but it's true!
It really depends on the length of the nails and how much of the design your client wants put on. Some clients will only want a design on a finger or two (the ring finger always looks cute), or just the big toes; while others may want all 10 nails with designs. In designing our product for the professional, we've tried to put as many items on a sheet as possible, so that you can do a lot of nails (including longer nails) and make a nice return on your investment!
The answer to this question can be very simple. What would you charge to hand paint the same design? Or what does another Tech in your salon charge for her hand painting or airbrush? Just because it's easy doesn't mean it should cost less for the client. It's still your time and expertise -- and something they can't do on their own! The feedback we get from nail techs at shows is that the range is from $1 to $5 a nail, depending on the amount you put on. Another thing to consider is if they are already paying for a service (such as a pedicure) and this is an add on, you might give them a little break... for example: Daisies on both big toes for an extra $3 instead of $5.
Not at all. You can remove That's It? just like you remove regular polish without nail art. Acetone or polish remover will take them right off..
We recommend that you use a top coat that works well with nail
art -- one that
doesn't pick up and drag the polish color over the decal. Our favorite is of
course our fast drying
That's It? Top Coat
With which ever top coat you choose, it's important to know that the first coat should be applied thinly, with 3 strokes (side, middle, side) -- if you miss a little spot, don't worry, because the second coat will get it. Top coat all 10 nails this way and then come back with a heavier second coat. The reason we tell you to do this is because the first coat seals the edges of the decal and the second coat helps protect it.
You don't have to be creative to use That's It? Instant Nail Art -- you can rub or stick them on just as they appear on the sheet or you can mix & match parts of the design to create a custom look (see our Style Ideas page for inspiration).
And if you ARE creative...well... go nuts! You can try layering smaller designs inside of bigger ones, Polka Dots inside of Daisies -- you can create a French look by lining up a row of White Daisies or White Hearts, etc. -- you can use mood polish behind the Moon & Stars for an awesome effect -- or mix bright polish colors behind White Hawaiian Print! We could go on & on -- but we'll stop here and let you get busy...
We offer Individual packs of both Rub-On & 3D Stickers which contain (1) sheet of one style, Rub-On Pro Kits that offer 12 sheets in a storage case with Thats It? Top Coat, a buffer block, 180/180 file and 2 orangewood sticks. You can see what each sheet looks like as you shop.
The best way to let your clients know about your new nail art is to wear them on yourself! When your clients see them on your nails, they will want them too! We also suggest making a nail display that shows what you offer. There are plastic nail displays available through most nail supply distributors and they are a great way to give your clients a few designs to pick from. Polish the nail tips and then put the designs on that you want to offer. You can't go wrong with White Daisies or Hearts, but you know your clientele best, so go with what you think they'd like!
Just about anything you want! Many technicians we know today are mixing glitter with gel (use the backing from your paper forms or wax paper to mix on) to create stunning glittery nails. Apply the glitter instead of white for a fancy French look. Create client loyalty with sparkling "Rock-Star" toes with your special glitter/UV Gel mix! You can also sprinkle the glitter into the uncured gel, or into the resin layer of a wrap or dip system, or mix it with clear acrylic powder. The possibilities are endless!!
