Dedication Ceremony
Friday, September 24th, 2010

On this day, we held a Dedication Ceremony to mark a cornerstone in the history of United Veterans Beacon House; having achieved the creation of the first permanent Headquarters of Beacon House; newly refurbished and graced with the installation of our American Flag.

Our Dedication was attended by staff and residents, members of the Federal, State and County governments, donors, fellow agencies in homeless services, and the
United States Marine Corp. Honor Guard,
Who raised our flag to a lovely recitation of The Star Spangled Banner by our very own Ms. Evelyn Nowlin.

The Invocation was done by the Northport VAMC Chaplain
Our Keynote Speaker was Mr. John Sperando,
Chief of the Northport VAMC Social Work Department
And
Our Special Guest Speaker was
Mrs. Carol Peres (ret.)
Northport VAMC Homeless Care Coordinator

After the ceremony was brought to a close, as a gesture of thanks to all who have stood by us over the years, we celebrated with all who came with refreshments and home style Barbeque followed by homemade cake. 

From morning to evening, our staff and guests enjoyed each other’s company and shared pertinent information on furthering our cause of helping our homeless veterans and our local community by feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and providing the best in Case Management, Supportive Services and Employment/Education counseling.
